On February 3, 2026, the Department of Environmental Engineering and Occupational Health and Safety at the Faculty of Technical Sciences hosted an educational workshop for second-grade students from “Jovan Popović” Primary School. The workshop focused on recycling, material properties, and the importance of environmental protection.
A short expert lecture was delivered by Dr Zorica Mirosavljević, with the support of Dr Bojana Zoraja and fourth-year Environmental Engineering students Teodora Ilić and Vladana Bulatović. The workshop was designed as an interactive combination of learning and play, with particular emphasis on a team competition involving the fast and correct sorting of waste.
Through activities of this kind, the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, together with its departments and students, actively contributes to developing environmental awareness among children from an early age, while strengthening the connection between the academic community and the local community in support of sustainable development.
